At Darnell-Cookman, there is a pageant called Miss SoMA. This pageant is an annual event that highlights core elements of Darnell Cookman—intelligence and dedication. This event allows participants to display their skills and dedication to the values of our school.
The pageant isn’t only something to dress up for – it emphasizes academics, talent, effort, and leadership. Participants have many parts to perform, including dance performances, speeches, and interviews where they answer questions asked by the judges on a variety of topics. After this, the judges choose the participant they liked the most and crown them as Miss SoMA.
Participants are restricted to juniors.
